On This Day In Music: David Bowie Releases Final Album ‘Blackstar’

On January 8, 2016, his 69th birthday, David Bowie released his final album, ‘Blackstar’. The legendary British artist and musician sadly passed away two days later following an 18 month battle with cancer.

Bowie had a career spanning four decades and was known for his innovative music and style, in particular his androgynous alter ego Ziggy Stardust. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 and enjoyed an illustrious career right up until his death.
