This Week’s New Releases: Bat For Lashes, Blink 182 And Metronomy

This week we are very excited about the arrival of ‘The Bride’, Bat For Lashes’ follow up to 2012’s ‘The Haunted Man’. The album is based around the story of a woman whose fiancé is killed on the way to their wedding and was inspired by a film Natasha Khan wrote and directed called I Do, which made its debut in April this year at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.

As if that wasn’t enough Dev Hynes only went and dropped the new Blood Orange album three days early. So, even though today was officially the release date, you’ve probably been lucky enough to give it a few spins already. We’ve also got Blink 182 offering up their first record since the departure of Tom DeLonge, who was replaced by Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio, and Metronomy following up 2014’s ‘Love Letters’ with ‘Summer 08’.

Check out the rest of our pick of this week’s new releases below.

Bat For Lashes – ‘The Bride’ (Parlophone)

Beyond The Wizard’s Sleeve – ‘The Soft Bounce’ (Phantasy Sound)

Blink 182 – ‘California’ (BMG)

Blood Orange – ‘Freetown Sound’ (Domino)

Maxwell – ‘blackSUMMERS’night’ (RCA/Columbia)

Metronomy – ‘Summer 08’ (Because)

Thee Oh Sees – ‘Live In San Francisco’ (Castleface)
