This Week’s New Releases: Mandy Moore, Megan Thee Stallion And Ani Glass

Not that we need a reason to give women in music the credit they deserve, but in honour of International Women’s Day this weekend we’re going to use our limited time and word count to put the spotlight on releases by ladies this week.

Mandy Moore is back with her first new album in over 10 years, while Megan Thee Stallion and Ani Glass have both put out their debut LPs. We’ve also been treated to ‘Hunted’ from Anna Calvi, a reworking of her 2018 album ‘Hunter’ featuring collaborations with Courtney Barnett, Joe Talbot of Idles, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Julia Holter.

Pop’s #1 diva, Mariah Carey, is back with a new album, Mumford and Sons are racking up LP #4, and the Smashing Pumpkins have returned with their first recording in over 18 years to feature founding members Billy Corgan, James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin. The Las Vegas band, who released ‘Wonderful Wonderful’ back in September, will head over for summer shows at the Liberty Stadium in Swansea on June 23 and the Macron Stadium in Bolton on July 13, alongside UK and European festival sets.

The band have been confirmed as headliners of next year’s Isle Of Wight Festival and TRNSMT in Glasgow, where they’ll top the bill on July 8, with synth-pop trio Chvrches and Franz Ferdinand also set to perform. Tickets for all dates go on sale beginning 9am on December 8.

Bruno Mars Tops Stereoboard’s Hot Ticket Chart


We’re a little late with it, but below is Stereoboard’s Hot Ticket Chart for November 21 to 27.

Bruno Mars has risen to #1 and knocked Cockney comedian Micky Flanagan down into second place. Following closely behind to make up the rest of the top five are The xxUB40 Featuring Ali, Astro and Mickey and The Kooks.

Meanwhile, Robbie Williams has gone from #3 to #6, Coldplay are up three places, Phil Collins is holding strong at #8 and James Arthur has dropped eight places. Little Mix have also done well to protect a top 20 position, going from last place on the last chart to #17 this week.

There are a shedload of shows going on sale soon, including tickets for Adele at Wembley, KISS‘ UK arena shows, Olly Murs‘ summer tour, new Bryan Adams dates and Richard Ashcroft‘s spring UK arena run. Check back in with us later this week to see if any of them have bumped Bruno off the top spot.

Rod Stewart Rises To The Top Of Stereoboard’s Hot Ticket Chart


Legendary crooner Rod Stewart has rather impressively entered Stereoboard’s Hot Ticket Chart at #1. Knocking James Bay off the top spot and all the way down to #11. Also doing well this week are chart newcomers Billy ConnollyBarry Manilow and Little Mix who have all joined the chart at #3, #15 and #18, respectively.

One Direction are standing firm in second position. Meanwhile, Muse are only just clinging onto a top 20 position, falling from #9 last week to #20 this week. Other acts, such as Stereophonics and Disney On Ice, are slowly moving down the chart, while some have left completely, including Bring Me The HorizonWWE and The Corrs, among others.

Paolo Nutini has lined up a string of outdoor shows for this summer. The Scottish singer-songwriter will head to Leeds’ Millennium Square on June 19 and Swansea’s Singleton Park on June 20. Nutini is also confirmed for Manchester’s Summer In The City series and the Eden Sessions in Cornwall, along with the Isle of Wight Festival and a show at Dublin’s Marlay Park. The Offspring will head to the UK for two shows this summer.
