This Week’s New Releases: Slipknot, Marika Hackman, Feeder And Bon Iver

This week everyone is talking about the latest LP from masked fiends Slipknot, but face-melting records aside there’s plenty more to be getting on with this week. Feeder are back with the follow up to 2016’s ‘All Bright Electric’ and Marika Hackman’s highly anticipated new album has arrived.

Iconic superstar Cher will return to the UK and Ireland in 2019 for her first live dates in over 14 years, Westlife have added two extra Cardiff dates to their Twenty tour and R&B star Janelle Monáe has announced a trio of massive shows for next summer, calling at London’s SSE Arena Wembley prior to nights at Dublin’s Trinity College, as part of the venue’s Summer Series, and the Castlefield Bowl in Manchester.

Jess Glynne has expanded her summer tour plans with huge shows in Colwyn Bay and Swansea, with South Wales also hosting Stereophonics next summer for a 20th anniversary celebration of the Welsh rockers’ landmark gig at Swansea’s Morfa Stadium. They’ll also mark 20 years since the release of their second album, ‘Performance and Cocktails’.

Maverick Sabre and Newton Faulkner have both lined up headlining tours, while Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott have announced a massive date at Stockport’s Edgeley Park. Swedish heavy metal icons In Flames have also confirmed they’ll grace the UK in April.

Cher

Cher will bring her Here We Go Again world tour to the UK and Ireland with shows confirmed at London’s O2 Arena, Manchester Arena, Birmingham Arena, the SSE Hydro Arena in Glasgow, Leeds’ First Direct Arena and the 3Arena in Dublin in October and November. Janelle Monáe

Two more headliners have been confirmed for London’s British Summer Time Hyde Park series with Florence and the Machine topping the bill on July 13 followed by Robbie Williams the next day. Over at Victoria Park, meanwhile, Christine and the Queens will headline All Points East on May 26 with Bring Me The Horizon set to perform on May 31.

Other big announcements include a handful of Noel Gallagher summer shows, Pete Tong and the Heritage Orchestra presenting Ibiza Classics at some of the UK’s biggest arenas, Hall and Oates spring dates and the Teenage Cancer Trust concert series’ return to London’s Royal Albert Hall. The Script have also set up their own run of intimate shows in March. There’s also Michael Ball tour dates in April and May plus Hugh Jackman’s debut world tour, which will see the Academy Award-nominated, Golden Globe and Tony Award-winner performing hit songs from The Greatest ShowmanLes Miserables and more from Broadway and film, accompanied by a live orchestra at UK arenas next summer.

Florence and the Machine at BST Hyde Park

Florence + the Machine have announced a huge show in London next year, topping the bill at British Summer Time Hyde Park on July 13. They will be joined by the National, Lykke Li, Khruangbin and Nadine Shah, with more acts due to be announced soon.
