This Week’s New Releases: Billie Elish, Bleachers and Prince

It’s the week a lot of people have been waiting for. Billie Eilish has finally dropped her highly anticipated second album, Jack Antonoff’s Bleachers have put out their third LP, and a posthumous Prince album has arrived featuring 11 previously unreleased original tracks— some of which were only ever performed live by the star or featured on webcasts or radio.

The British pop icons will perform their first London show in six years on July 11 as part of the BST Hyde Park series. They’ll be joined by special guests Nile Rodgers and CHIC, and Grace Jones, with further acts to be announced. Duran Duran were due to headline the bill in 2020, but the festival did not take place due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Tickets go on general sale at 9am on December 4 and fans who purchased tickets to the band’s cancelled 2020 performance are guaranteed tickets if they rebook.

The British rapper and singer, well known for his time with N-Dubz, will bring his Duki’s Playground Tour to Glasgow, Sheffield, Newcastle, Leeds, Birmingham, Nottingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Bournemouth and London, where he’ll play Electric Brixton, during May 2021. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on December 4.

The Overtones

The vocal group will celebrate their 10th anniversary with 20 shows in autumn 2021, kicking off on November 9 in Halifax and wrapping up on December 12 in Sheffield. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on December 4.

Rammstein have lined up a huge summer show in Belfast, where they’ll take over Boucher Road Playing Fields on June 17, 2020. The date forms part of their 2020 European stadium tour behind this year’s untitled seventh studio album. They play their only UK date of the year at Stadium MK in Milton Keynes this weekend. Tickets go on general sale at 11am on July 5.

The Cult

The Cult will perform ‘Sonic Temple’ in full plus a second set of fan favourites from the rest of their back catalogue at shows in Nottingham, Birmingham, Cardiff, Leeds, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol, Portsmouth, and London, where they’ll play Hammersmith Eventim Apollo on October 27. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on July 5.

Bombay Bicycle Club

The indie band, who reformed in January after a five year hiatus, will play ‘I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose’ in full at Liverpool’s Olympia, Caird Hall in Dundee, Nottingham’s Rock City, Bath Pavilion, and London’s O2 Academy Brixton during November. Support will come from Gengahr. Tickets go on sale at 10am on July 5.
