Catherine Ringer is a French new wave, pop rock, alt rock and chanson singer, songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, dancer, choreographer, actress, and co-founder of the pop rock group Les Rita Mitsouko.
Ringer started her professional career on stage in the late 1970s in productions with Michael Lonsdale's Théâtre de Recherche Musicale as well as musical and dance productions. In 1976, she met the Argentine dancer and choreographer Marcia Moretto, with whom she studied and also performed in various venues in Paris. The hit song Marcia Baïla was written as a tribute to Moretto after her death in 1981 - becoming her most well-known track. Ringer released a handful of collaborative singles throughout the 1990s, and made a comeback in the early 2000s with more singles. IN 2008, she released the album 'Rendez-vous Chez Nino Rota', and 'Catherine Ringer chante Les Rita Mitsouko and more à La Cigale', followed by 'Ring N Roll' in 2011, a collab with John Frusciante of Wu-Tang Clan, Mark Plati and RZA. Her latest was 2017's 'Chroniques et Fantaisies'. Catherine Ringer has a handful of French headline shows planned for September.
