Chris Hadfield is a retired astronaut and singer-songwriter from Sarnia, Canada.
He entered the Canadian Armed Forces in 1978 and spent decades serving as a military fighter pilot and test pilot before his selection to the Canadian space programme in 1992. He flew three space missions, serving as a mission specialist on STS-74 and STS-100, and achieved global recognition during Expedition 35 when he became the first Canadian commander of the International Space Station and recorded independent musical projects while in orbit. In 2015, he put out his debut album 'Space Sessions: Songs From a Tin Can' – a collection of songs he recorded while on the International Space Staton.
