Chvrches are a Scottish electronic band hailing from Glasgow. Forming late in 2011, the band consists of former Blue Sky Archives co-vocalist Lauren Mayberry and synth/keyboard players Iain Cook and Martin Doherty.
Known for their unique, synthpop-style sound and use of electronics, Chvrches have picked-up critical acclaim across the country, and even claimed a spot in the prestigious BBC Sound of 2013 poll, in which they eventually finished fifth.
Releasing their debut singles Lies and The Mother We Share in 2012, Chvrches would eventually put out their debut album ‘The Bones of What You Believe’ in September 2013, reaching Top 10 in the UK Singles Chart and charting internationally, including in America, where they hit number 12, in the Billboard Hot 200. The band released their second album, ‘Every Open Eye’ in 2015, and supported it with a UK and USA tour.
Chvrches head out on tour of the US and Canada in September/October 2018, supporting their new record, 'Love Is Dead', which hit shelves in May. They also play in Australia this July, and then Europe later in the year and the UK in February 2019. Fab gig. This was the first time I have seen Chvrches live, and I cant wait to see them again! It was a little on the short side as they are a bit limited with material but it exceeded all of my expectations and I loved it. Even my boyfriend, who I dragged along was impressed and he had never heard of them before. They sound better than they do on record and I cant wait for a few more live shows to be announced.

After being impressed check out their impressive album, I was really looking forward to this gig. What a great show., brilliant visuals too. They're amazing live and her voice is stunning! Only downside was that I'd have liked them to stay on a bit longer. Definitely one of those bands who sound just as fantastic live, if not better, than they do on record. Look forward to more dates in 2014!

Dark clouds loom over Chvrches on their third release, ‘Love is Dead’. Here the Scottish trio offer a response to the modern political landscape through the medium of big ‘80s-influenced pop songs. Working with producer Greg Kurstin on much of the record, they fully embrace their mainstream sensibilities.
