The legendary funk, soul and R&B group "Earth, Wind & Fire" look set to return to the Top 10 of the official UK album chart this week, for the first time in an incredible 24 years.
Earth, Wind & Fire’s “Greatest Hits”, a new compilation compiled by Sony Music, coincided with the band's return to the UK this week, in the form of a hugely successful arena tour, that included concets at the Manchester MEN Arena, the Birmingham NIA, and London's The 02 Arena.
This new resurgence proves that Earth, Wind & Fire's hits, including Boogie Wonderland, Let's Groove and September, are still very much relevant in today's fast-moving pop market.
The Times newspaper, who published a glowing review of Earth, Wind & Fire’s triumphant first-night concert at Manchester's MEN arena, cite the band as "the ultimate disco survivors... [E,W&F's] dedication to making the audience feel good about themselves is admirable. The robotic voice on 'Let's Groove', an evergreen classic that has that winning blend of emotion and escapism, brought the night to an end. There was no encore, but one wasn't needed. This was a complete show."
