Cherry Ghost to Release New Single in March

Bolton-based indie-rockers Cherry Ghost are to release a new single entitled ‘Only a Mother’ on 7th March. It is the latest to be taken from their acclaimed second album ‘Beneath This Burning Shoreline’. Cherry Ghost will follow the single’s release with a number of tour dates in March.

‘Beneath This Burning Shoreline’ was released in July last year and followed Cherry Ghost’s Top 10 debut ‘Thirst for Romance’, which came out in 2007. In that same year, they were nominated for Best New Act at the Q Awards, but lost out to The Enemy. They later won an Ivor Novello Award for their single ‘People Help the People’ in the Best Contemporary Song category. Since the band’s formation in 2005, Cherry Ghost have earned themselves a number of well-known fans including Robert Plant and Bruce Springsteen.

Cherry Ghost will play a number of live dates in March including shows in London and Manchester, where they will be accompanied by a string quartet. The tour dates will be preceded by a slot supporting Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan at their O2 Shepherds Bush Empire NME Awards Show on 15th February.
