Katy Perry To Match Michael Jackson’s Chart Record?

Katy Perry has the potential to match a record set by Michael Jackson if her latest single single 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)' reaches Number One in the US singles chart this week. If the ‘California Gurls’ singer manages to top the US chart this week she will equal Jackson’s record of having five Number One singles taken from the same album.
The singer will also become the first female artist in American chart history to hold the accolade of five top-placing singles from the same LP. Perry has previously topped the chart with four tracks from her ‘Teenage Dream’ album - 'California Gurls', 'Teenage Dream', 'Firework' and 'E.T.'.
Reaching the top spot would mean that Perry will equal a record set by Michael Jackson’s 1987 album ‘Bad’, which created five Number One singles including classics ‘Dirty Diana’ and ‘Man In The Mirror’. The other songs to top the chart from ‘Bad’ were 'I Just Can't Stop Loving You', 'Bad' and 'The Way You Make Me Feel'.
Meanwhile, Perry recently set a separate chart record by becoming the first artist to have ever remained in the US singles chart top ten for an entire year.
