Bloc Party's Kele Okereke Announces New London Brixton Show

Wednesday, 28 September 2011 Written by Jon Stickler

We last heard from Kele Okereke in late 2010 with the release his single ‘On The Lam’, taken from his highly acclaimed debut solo album ‘The Boxer’.

This hugely successful mission without his Bloc Party band mates, saw Kele experiment with his own love of electronic music and his clear talent for producing it. The dance-pop leanings and references displayed on ‘The Boxer’ are expanded further with this offering of new material. This seven track EP has been written and recorded in Kele’s new home of New York over the summer and is the result of further work with his album producer XXX Change.

All tracks were written by Kele, with the exception of ‘Goodbye Horses’, and all enlist an impressive line-up of producers, co-producers, vocalists and collaborators. These include main producer XXXChange, Sub Focus, Lucy Taylor, Fred Falke, RAC and QNESS.

‘The Hunter’ EP is released on October 31st and the tracklisting is as follows:

1. What Did I Do feat. Lucy Taylor
2. Release Me
3. Devotion
4. Goodbye Horses
5. Cable’s Goodbye
6. Love As A Weapon
7. You Belong To Someone Else

Kele will also headline a special one off show at London’s Brixton Electric on Saturday 17th December.
