1980's New Wave Bow Wow Wow Return For 2012 UK Tour

1980's new wave band Bow Wow Wow have announced they will return in 2012 for a UK tour.

Organised by Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren in 1980, Bow Wow Wow's music is described as having an “African-derived drum sound”. Forming the band, McLaren persuaded guitarist Matthew Ashman, bassist Leigh Gorman and percussionist Dave Barbarossa of the original line-up of Adam and the Ants to leave Adam Ant and form a new group fronted by teen singer Annabella Lwin. McLaren was also going to use Boy George as a second lead singer, but he was deemed to be “too wild” for the band.

Bow Wow Wow will kick-off their 2012 UK tour at Oxford's O2 Academy on 20th April. The tour will visit venues in Birmingham, York, Glasgow, Newcastle, Sheffield and Islington.
