Since their October reunion announcement, The Stone Roses have not stopped confirming dates all over the world. The group today confirmed they will play at Dublin’s Phoenix Park on Thursday 5th July as part of their extensive reunion tour.
The legendary foursome, whose eponymous 1989 debut album is widely considered to be one of the greatest albums of all time, are currently in rehearsals for the one of the most eagerly anticipated reunifications ever.
The first triple-gig of the tour is set for Heaton Park in Manchester, with the initial 2 nights selling out in less than 15 minutes. Not a bad sign, considering the capacity of 150.000. Another interesting fact, The Stone Roses record sales grew with an unbelievable 1000% after announcing the reunion.
Having achieved massive commercial and critical success with only two albums their music truly defined an era in British popular culture and provided the inspiration for a whole generation of acts to take on the charts.
The Stone Roses set a new record in October when all 220,000 tickets for their 3 UK shows at Manchester’s Heaton Park sold out in just over an hour.
The Stone Roses UK & Ireland Live Dates are as follows:
Fri June 29th 2012 - Heaton Park, Manchester
Sat June 30th 2012 - Heaton Park, Manchester
Sun July 1st 2012 - Heaton Park, Manchester
Thu July 5th 2012 – Phoenix Park, Dublin – NEW DATE
