It has been confirmed that BRIT Award Nominee Olly Murs will perform at this year's Summer Lytham Proms event.
With a BRIT Award nomination and Number One album to his name, Olly Murs is sure to thrill the crowds this summer. “Lytham Proms Festival Weekend has really become a renowned event and one that creates a real buzz in the local area. We regularly get locals asking us who will be performing and we hope we’ve provided something for all tastes and ages this year. We are equally pleased that this will be Olly’s only North-West show this summer.
“The event has three very different nights of music and Olly certainly fits the pop genre of the Sunday night. It will be a memorable way to close Lytham Proms Festival Weekend 2012. Olly describes his new album as ‘old-school, classic soul with a rock and roll feel’. Olly’s natural stage presence and audience interaction is what makes him unique. Talking about his appearance at Lytham Proms Festival Weekend, Olly commented: “We’re not going too far down the dancing route – I’ll get a bigger band, build that up. I just want to put on the best show of the year, if I can. I want people to come away feeling it was money well spent.”
Lytham Proms Festival Weekends three day event line-up is now complete, with Friday 3rd August welcoming ‘Here and Now The Very Best of The 80’s’ and Saturday 4th August will see a performance of 'Alfie Boe- Last Night of the Proms’. The winner of local talent competition Fylde’s Got Talent will perform alongside Olly Murs on the Sunday night.
The new Summer shows will follow Olly's massive UK arena tour, which kicks-off on Wednesday 1st February at Cardiff's Motorpoint Arena. The tour will see Olly promoting his latest album ‘In Case You Didn’t Know’ which was released in November last year.
