Ultravox Announce 'Brilliant' Release Date And Tracklisting

New-wave rockers Ultravox have returned with their first studio album to feature their original line-up in 28 years.

Following on from the sold-out ‘Return to Eden’ comeback tour in 2009, the classic Ultravox line-up has recorded a 12-track collection of brand new tracks which will see a release on May 28th, ahead of their full UK tour in September and October.

Dramatic, passionate and truly epic in scale and sound, ‘Brilliant’ is not only a prescient reminder of how great this reborn band are, but an exciting and vital addition to an extraordinary catalogue of music which today sounds more current and influential than ever.

‘Brilliant’ sees Ultravox expanding their classic sonic template and reminding us of their strength as songwriters of the highest calibre. Full details of the album will be revealed soon along with the thirteen-date tour they will be embarking on later this year – but you can check the tracklisting out below.

Emerging from the new wave and electro scenes of the late 70’s, Ultravox fashioned a form of electronic rock music that was uniquely powerful and delivered massive hits though the 1980’s such as ‘Hymn’, ‘Dancing With Tears In My Eyes’, ‘The Voice’, ‘Reap The Wild Wind’, ‘Love’s Great Adventure’, ‘We Came To Dance’ and, of course, the timeless and atmospheric ‘Vienna’.

‘Brilliant’ track-listing is as follows:

Live Again

Brilliant
The Change
Rise

If every picture paints a visual story, every ‘best of’ album tells a musical one. For example, there’s the feeling any Bryan Adams collection called ‘Ultimate’ shouldn’t include tracks recorded after the early ‘90s. Although the truth isn’t quite that straightforward, it’s hard to disagree when listening to the Canadian rocker’s latest career-spanning compilation.
Weezer - Pacific Daydream (Album Review)
Mon 30 Oct 2017
Weezer. Oh no. Last year’s ‘White Album’ restored faith in California’s most annoyingly inconsistent sons. After 15 years spent chipping away at their legacy, this guitar-toting, Beach Boys-worshiping band decided to take what made them brilliant in the first place and boot it into 2016. It was home to ‘50s melodies, alt-rock fuzz and painfully awkward words spewing from Rivers Cuomo’s lyric sheet. It was a Weezer record fans could finally be proud of.
