Simple Minds And Ultravox Announce Four UK Arena Shows For November

Preparing to hit the road later this month for their mammoth spring UK tour, Simple Minds have today confirmed four special UK arena shows in November, including the O2 in London. Special guests on these new dates will be Ultravox.

ImageSimple Minds are one of the UK's most successful rock groups to date. Having topped America's Billboard chart, the Glasgow band have achieved six Number 1 albums in the UK as well hitting the top spot in countless other territories including Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Australia and New Zealand. The band will release their 'Celebrate Greatest Hits +' on Monday 25th March.

Meanwhile Ultravox returned last year with 'Brilliant' their first studio album in 28 years featuring the classic line up Midge Ure, Billy Currie, Chris Cross and Warren Cann.

Emerging from the new wave and electro scenes of the late 70's, Ultravox fashioned a form of electronic rock music that delivered massive hits through the 1980's such as 'Hymn', 'Dancing With Tears In My Eyes', 'The Voice', 'Reap The Wild Wind', 'Love's Great Adventure', 'We Came To Dance' and of course the timeless and atmospheric 'Vienna'.

How To Make A Sadcore Hit: A Lana Del Rey Recipe
Fri 09 Aug 2019
Lana Del Rey really has nailed her hazy, retro vibe and a nostalgic sense of sadness. Far from the usual feel-good factor of pop hits, the New York vocalist and songwriter has carved a niche for herself in the shimmery, summery genre of luxurious, melancholic songs that we like to call sadcore.

Lana Del Rey - Norman Fucking Rockwell! (Album Review)
Thu 05 Sep 2019
When Lana Del Rey’s Video Games attained viral status in 2011, it felt entirely plausible that her success would be a flash in the pan. Many critics (often male) derided her as a contrived, inauthentic pop star whose cinematic melancholia could not translate to long term appeal. Eight years and four albums later, they’ve been proven wrong about her longevity, and yet Del Rey’s multi-textured inauthenticity has flourished, and become a kind of defining brand. Sometimes you can be wrong and right at the same time.
