Britain's Got Talent Finalist Gabz To Release Debut Single 'Lighters (The One)' Later This Month

Thursday, 20 June 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Gabz - the 14-year-old singer who wowed judges and fans alike on Britain’s Got Talent this year, finishing 7th - has announced that she’ll bring out her debut single ‘Lighters (The One)’ on June 30.

She left the country in awe with her singing, her piano-playing and, of course, her trademark onesies on the show, and now Gabz Gardiner is to release the self-penned anthem that thrilled more than 11 million TV viewers during Britain’s Got Talent 2013.

Just a young schoolgirl, she recorded the song in a London studio last week, with the track produced by Graham Stack - who’s worked with the likes of Kylie Minogue, JLS, Girls Aloud. She’s got a presence in the studio, but Simon Cowell recognised her talent from the moment she did her first audition - and said:

“I think we’re looking at a future pop star.”

The plaudits continued when she performed her own track in the show’s semi-final, with Cowell revealing that he ‘thinks the song’s a hit’ - and Gabz herself is now finding it hard to wait for it’s official release at the end of the month. She said:

“I'm really excited about my single being released, I'm so happy, it's a dream come true!”

You’ll have to wait just 10 more days to buy the track, but you can check out a HD video of her performing the tune on BGT embedded below!
