Black Country Communion To Return With New Album And UK Shows

Monday, 31 July 2017 Written by Jon Stickler

Black Country Communion will return with their fourth record this autumn.

‘BCCIV’ is the follow up to 2013's 'Afterglow' and is out on September 22 through Mascot Records, prior to two exclusive concerts at Wolverhampton's Civic Hall and London's Eventim Apollo in January. Tickets go on general sale on August 4.

The group, featuring vocalist Glenn Hughes, guitarist Joe Bonamassa, drummer Jason Bonham and keyboardist Derek Sherinian, took a hiatus shortly after the arrival of their third record due to differing career priorities between Hughes and Bonamassa. Speaking about the record, Hughes said:

"We had around four months to write this album, and I think the results speak for themselves. All four of us wanted to make a record that stood up to the first three albums, however, the new album is more of a progression, as we wanted to be careful not to repeat the previous albums.  A lot has happened since we last recorded the 'Afterglow' album in 2013, so, in many ways, the new album shows BCC with a much harder, riffier and bigger and bolder sound. If you’re looking for a folk album, this ain’t the one."
