Example Releases New Summer Floor Filler Show Me How To Love

Monday, 13 August 2018 Written by Helen Payne

It’s time to dance. Example has released the latest summer anthem.

Show Me How To Love is the second of three tracks to be unveiled ahead of his forthcoming mixtape, ‘Bangers and Ballads’ which drops on August 17 through AWAL.

The new single fits one half of the mixtape’s criteria perfectly - charging full steam ahead as nothing but a club banger, with guest vocals from Hayla and beats provided by producer DJ Katch.

Example explained:

“I just wanted to keep things simple, and do what I love doing – big pop club bangers which tell a story (with a few ballads thrown in for the hell of it). After my deal with Ministry of Sound ended after three albums, I spent a lot of time thinking and talking about what “direction” I should be going in, and not much time releasing music. So earlier this year I decided to stop over analysing things, take the independent route via AWAL Music Recordings and just have some fun”

For the video, meanwhile, love is in the air. Example invited nine newlywed couples on a boat party on the Thames as part of his Random Acts of Kindness month, while directorial duties are shared with Risky Roadz.

Most new albums are intended to be new benchmarks, but it doesn’t always work out that way. Unfortunately, the entirety of MØ's existing back catalogue is a better proposition than her second LP ‘Forever Neverland’, which has been in the works for several years.
Robyn - Honey (Album Review)
Mon 29 Oct 2018
There is a method of mastering in dance music production - pioneered by Daft Punk - that involves increasing sidebar compression on the kick drum. The result is that the whole track throbs around the kick, and seems more aggressive, powerful and tight. It’s particularly effective for radio play, where things are engineered into a state of razor-like sharpness to be heard over rush hour traffic.
