PJ Harvey Releases Two Songs From All About Eve Soundtrack

Tuesday, 09 April 2019 Written by Helen Payne

PJ Harvey can turn her hand to anything.

The multi-award-winning singer and songwriter has composed the score for a new West End production of Ivo Van Hove’s All About Eve, the soundtrack of which is due to arrive on April 12 via Lakeshore/Invada.

Ahead of the release, Harvey has shared two cuts. The Moth features guest vocals by Lily James and Descending is a dramatic instrumental number.

Speaking to Pitchfork, Harvey said:

“I also love the freedom that working instrumentally can give me without the constraints of song form. For All About Eve I chose to work with my long-time collaborator James Johnston as he has a soulfulness and sensitivity to his playing that inspires me. I also worked with Kenrick Rowe who has a versatility to his drumming I knew I could experiment with until I found what was right.”

The play is currently showing at the Noël Coward Theatre in London, where it will run until May 11. Tickets are available here.
