Steve Lamacq has announced the Homecoming Tour of the UK for Independent Venue Week later this month.

The tour will see a handful of artists performing intimate sets at grassroots venues in their hometowns, as well as live broadcasts from the BBC Radio 6 Music DJ.

Nadine Shah will perform at the Newcastle Cluny on January 27, and Self Esteem is set to play at the Leadmill in Sheffield the following day with support from Skinny Pelembe. Gruff Rhys will take over Cardiff’s Clwb Ifor Bach on January 28 and Frank Turner will play the Cavern in Exeter on January 30, while Anna Calvi, an ambassador for Independent Venue Week, heads to London’s Brixton Windmill for an intimate set on February 1. Find out more about Independent Venue Week here.

All tickets are on sale now, with the exception of Calvi’s Brixton show, for which you can apply for tickets here. Lamacq said:

“January can be a make or break time for small venues, so it’s terrific to be involved in Independent Venue Week again, which was launched specifically to support these places and the artists who thrive in them. This time we’re trying to emphasise just how important local venues can be in providing a stage for new artists on their way to bigger success, by taking some of our favourite musicians back to the haunts where they first plied their trade and began honing their songs.”

Independent Venue Week Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows

Mon January 27 2020 - NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE Cluny
Tue January 28 2020 - SHEFFIELD Leadmill
Wed January 29 2020 - CARDIFF Clwb Ifor Bach
Thu January 30 2020 - EXETER Cavern
