Van Morrison has announced a double album.

'Latest Record Project: Volume 1' features 28 songs and is due for release on May 7 through Exile/BMG. It follows up 2019's 'Three Chords & The Truth' and was written and recorded during the enforced COVID-19 lockdown, which allowed Morrison time to experiment with ideas on piano, guitar and saxophone.

The tracks Love Should Come With a Warning and Mistaken Identity were co-penned with Don Black. Morrison said:

"I'm getting away from the perceived same songs, same albums all the time. This guy's done 500 songs, maybe more, so hello? Why do you keep promoting the same 10? I'm trying to get out of the box."

The announcement comes with the release of the record's soulful title track, which is anchored by the soothing tones of a hammond organ interspersed with sha-la-la backing vocals. Press play below.

The 75-year-old is due to support the record with UK and Ireland shows during spring and summer, including performances that were rescheduled due to COVID-19, though some dates might be postponed again due to ongoing restrictions.
