Snail Mail Announces 2022 Tour Dates And Second LP 'Valentine', Shares Title Track

Wednesday, 15 September 2021 Written by Jon Stickler

Snail Mail, aka Lindsey Jordan, has announced her second album and a supporting tour.

'Valentine' will arrive on November 5 via Matador and feature the newly shared title track, which builds from a haunting, synthy start to a driving, anthemic chorus. It comes paired with a wild, gory period drama-themed video directed by Josh Coll.

Discussing the record, Jordan said: "I wanted to take as much time as possible with this record to make sure I was happy with every detail before unleashing it unto y'all. Referring to the process as the deepest level of catharsis and therapy I have ever experienced would be a huge understatement. Valentine is my child!"

Commenting on the clip, she added:

"It was so rewarding concocting this video alongside the brilliant Josh Coll! Watching a few perverse images in my head metamorphose into this gorgeous storyline and eventually into a tangible visual was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. We connected over a mutual interest in the intersection between terror and devastating beauty. But also Tim and Eric and watered down ginger ale, which I had to drink a shocking amount of in those drink-bombing scenes."

Penned by the 22-year-old in 2019 and 2020, and co-produced alongside Brad Cook behind the control desk in Durham, North Carolina, the follow-up to 2018's 'Lush' will arrive ahead of a huge tour, which kicks off in the US on November 27.

In February, she'll jet to the UK for a handful of dates, followed by stops in major European cities, returning stateside for further gigs in the spring. Head here for a full list of international dates. Tickets go on general sale at 10am BST on September 22.
