Jake Shears Announces New Album 'Last Man Dancing' Featuring Kylie Minogue, Big Freedia And More

Thursday, 02 February 2023 Written by Jon Stickler

Jake Shears has announced his second solo album.

'Last Man Dancing' is due out on June 2 via Mute, and features contributions from Kylie Minogue, Big Freedia, Jane Fonda and Iggy Pop, among others. Check out the artwork and tracklist below.

Describing it, Shears said it's his "ultimate house party. Presented in two distinct halves, it chronicles a night's journey from sing-along dance anthems into the deeper, darker corners of my living room. Electro-pop, tech-house, poppers-fueled disco, it's MY afters and YOU just got the address. We can be as loud and late as we want… and while not everyone might make it to the end, it’s the last ones dancing who are rewarded with the most magical moments of the evening."

As a preview, the former Scissor Sisters frontman has dropped the new single, Too Much Music, a disco, dancefloor-ready track which comes with a Calum Macdiarmid-directed video.

Having already been confirmed for this year's Mighty Hoopla, Shears will celebrate the new record with three intimate UK headline shows, including a date at London's Village Underground on release day.
