The Amity Affliction have announced a new album.

The follow-up to 2020's 'Everyone Loves You... Once You Leave Them' is called 'Not Without My Ghosts' and will arrive on May 12 via Pure Noise Records, marking the Australian metalcore group's eighth LP.

It boasts features by late New Zealand rapper Louie Knuxx, as well as Comeback Kid's Andrew Neufeld, The Plot in You's Landon Tewers, and Phem.

As a preview, the band have shared the track It's Hell Down Here, which combines their trademark ferocious drum fills, blistering riffs and screamed vocals with soaring melodies. Head below to view the accompanying video. It follows last November's single, Show Me Your God. Vocalist Joel Birch commented:

"This song is a letter from myself and Ahren, written by me, to our friends who have passed on to the other side."

"I'm 41. I'm bipolar. And I'm pretty tired of it," he added. "That's where lyrics like 'Like a snake I tire / the cold dark clouds, they steal my light' come from. The song is wrapping up how I feel daily, and reflect on the time leading up to my friend killing himself. I'm sure a lot of people who have experienced that guilt at not seeing what becomes glaringly obvious after the fact."

The Amity Affliction will appear at various festivals this year, including Download and Hellfest in June, Louder Than Life in September, and Aftershock in October.
