The follow-up to 2021's 'Islomania' is called 'And That’s Why Dolphins Lost Their Legs' and will arrive on August 25.
Band leader Nick Thorburn worked on the record at studios in Los Angeles, Hollywood and upstate New York with Chris Coady, Mike Stroud of Ratatat and Patrick Ford. Head below for a teaser in the form of lead single, Life's A Joke, a mid-tempo, synth-led indie-pop track. Thorburn wrote in a statement:
"The songs attempt to tap into some of our darker impulses. The grim, unshakeable feeling that we live in hell, that there is no future, that all hope is lost. I wanted to explore those depths and see where it lead me."
Islands will support the LP with a North American tour in September and October. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time tomorrow (June 23). Head below for details.
