Devo Announce Career-Spanning Box Set '50 Years Of De-Evolution (1973-2023)'

Devo have announced a 50th anniversary career-spanning box set.

The Ohio new wave group will release the retrospective collection, '50 Years of De-Evolution (1973-2023)', on October 20.

Encompassing all of Devo's hugely influential hits along with a selection of rarities, the release will be available in a number of formats, including a limited 4-LP edition featuring pressed clear vinyl, a 28-page book, a foldable paper hat and an air freshener. Head here for pre-orders. Devo lead singer Mark Mothersbaugh commented:

"This box set represents a great cross-section of early experiments and later creations. I was looking to create a new sound, a concept in art and music that represented a new way of thinking about life on planet earth. With Devo, I think we did just that."

This new box set is in addition to the release of 'Art Devo 1973-1977', a collection of rare and unreleased music that was recorded before the release of the group's first album. It's out this Friday (September 8).

Mothersbaugh recently confirmed that the band's current world tour will be their last. Having played London in August, they'll embark on a string of US dates in November.
