Don Broco have shared a new single, Birthday Party.
The electro-rock track offers tongue-in-cheek lyrics over distorted, glitching guitars effects, and arrives with a trippy video. Describing it, frontman Rob Damiani said:
"Birthdays can be the absolute worst. You get all hyped up for what you think is a guaranteed top day, but when that doesn’t work out you can’t help but feel EXTRA bad.
"I don’t really like birthdays because of this, but one year tried throwing a last min shindig and in classic form it was not well attended, haha.
"I can’t say I took it well but my only option was having a party for one and this song is the story of that night."
Announced by the Bedfordshire band earlier in September, following their performances at the Reading and Leeds festivals, the song shares its title with the group's previously scheduled Birthday Party Tour, which heads across the UK this autumn. They also have North American dates in the diary.
Last week, the four-piece shared details of a live recording of their Royal Albert Hall show, which was part of the 2022 Teenage Cancer Trust concert series. The landmark gig at the iconic London venue saw them accompanied by a full orchestra and choir. It's expected in late November, though a date is still to be confirmed.
Their last studio LP was 2021's 'Amazing Things'.
