Jake Bugg has shared a new single, Never Said Goodbye.
Tackling themes of loss, grief and regret, the acoustic guitar-led ballad is one of four new tracks on the upcoming deluxe edition of the Nottingham singer-songwriter's 2024 album, 'A Modern Day Distraction'. Bigg said:
"Never Said Goodbye is about losing someone close unexpectedly, which affects a lot of us. It’s happened to me, so it’s a song that means a lot personally."
The other new songs on 'A Modern Day Distraction (Deluxe)', out on October 24 via Lovebugg, are Oblivious, Too Late Now and Feels Like The Sunshine. Bugg added:
"After we released the album we realised we weren’t finished creatively so we headed back in the studio and made more tracks. All of these would have gone on the original, so we’re releasing a deluxe version that feels more like the complete record."
Fresh from an appearance at Glasgow's TRNSMT festival, Bugg will play a number of UK and European headline shows over the coming weeks, including a date supporting Stereophonics at the Royal Sandringham Estate on August 16. Tickets are on sale.
