Charlie Puth Teases 'Whatever's Clever!' With Second Single Beat Yourself Up

Charlie Puth has shared a new single called Beat Yourself Up.
Following October's Changes, the upbeat track serving up R&B-infused pop production is the second preview of the New Jersey artist's fourth studio album, 'Whatever’s Clever!', due out on March 27 via Atlantic Records. He said:
"Beat Yourself Up started as something I wanted to tell a friend. We’ve never been the heart-to-heart types, so I wrote it in a song instead. I wanted to tell him that even though he has made mistakes along the way, he shouldn’t be so hard on himself. That things will get better and he’s not alone. While writing it, I soon realized this wasn’t just for my friend but myself and so many others who can be hard on themselves. It’s a message to keep going and be kinder to yourself."
Earlier this week, Grammy nominee Puth announced the Whatever’s Clever! World Tour for this spring and summer, with dates scheduled across North America, Europe, the UK and Ireland, with the latter leg including shows in London, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Manchester and Dublin.
Support on the North American leg will come from Ally Salort at all shows, with Daniel Seavey and Lawrence joining on select dates. Tickets for all shows are on sale now.
Puth will also perform the national anthem of the United States at Super Bowl LX in San Francisco on February 8.
