Kim Petras has unveiled a video for Freak It.
The high-energy dance track was released in July 2025, following Polo as the second single from the Grammy-winning German pop singer's forthcoming third album, 'Detour'. Inspired by club culture, the video was shot in a Paris club and captures the raw, relentless energy of a late-night rave.
Since releasing Freak It, Petras officially released another single, I Like Ur Look, which arrived last October.
Further details about the follow-up to 2023's 'Problématique' are still to be confirmed. In January, the singer hit out at her record label in a series of posts on X, claiming that they "refused" to release the album and revealing that she would rather be dropped by Republic Records and continue as an independent artist.
“My album has been done for six months but my record label has refused to give me a release date or pay my collaborator’s for the work they’ve done,” she wrote at the time. “I’m tired of having no control over my own life or career. I want to continue to self fund and self curate my own music. This is why I have formally requested to be dropped by @RepublicRecords."
Petras has now started releasing one new song per week independently via SoundCloud and YouTube from an EP titled 'Pretour'. Songs already shared include Pop Sound, Mr. Producer featuring BC Kingdom, Cha Cha, and, most recently, Get Some with Cortisa Star, which dropped yesterday.
Since her last album, Petras released her 'Slut Pop Miami' EP in 2024. She has also featured on tracks by other artists, including Don't Lie by The Chainsmokers and Reason Why by the late SOPHIE.
She'll play San Francisco's Castro Theatre on March 15. Tickets are on sale now.
