Charli XCX has shared a new song, Playboy Bunny.
The pop-punk-inspired track serves as the b-side to the Grammy and BRIT-winning artist's latest single, SS26, which she released last week.
Just as with I Keep Thinking About You Every Single Day And Night, the b-side to her previous single Rock Music, Playboy Bunny is only available on limited edition 7" vinyl and via the pop singer's b-sides Instagram account, where the accompanying black and white video is streaming exclusively. Explaining her new retro-style release format in a post on social media, Charli said:
"The B-sides are sort of like coupled with some of the songs that are coming out ahead of the album. The reason that they’re paired together, these two songs, are because, in ways, they’re totally opposite from each other, and that is find of the main point of them.
"It’s sort of a mirror… there are specifically sonic things about it that are extremely opposite to ‘SS26,’ and I think that’s what made it a good B-side, a good pair.”
Despite the new material, further details on the follow-up to 2024's 'Brat' remain under wraps. Since her last album, she's released deluxe and remix versions, a companion album for the film Wuthering Heights, and her mockumentary The Moment in January.
Charli XCX will headline several festivals this summer, including the UK's Reading and Leeds and Chicago's Lollapalooza.
