Queen legend Roger Taylor has announced his seventh solo album.

The follow-up to 2021's 'Outsider' is titled 'Violence Insane In A Beautiful World' and will arrive on September 18. Produced by Taylor and Joshua J. Macrae, the album explores the darker parts of today's world, while reflecting the drummer, songwriter and singer's faith in both art and humanity. Commenting on its overarching theme, Taylor explained:

"It's in the title really, what a beautiful world we live in, don't fuck it up. There seems to be all this insanity at the moment. The violence in the world seems to be as bad as it ever was, at any point, and certainly in my lifetime. It's just horrific, a lot of insane violence. And we do seem to be fucking up the world, plastics in the sea, you know, and all these awful wars everywhere and hatred born of different religions.

"It's a beautiful world, you know. And kindness is very important, I think, it seems to be forgotten quite a lot."

Marking the announcement, Taylor has shared the uplifting new single Come On Summer (It's Party Time), which features The Ndlovu Youth Choir from Limpopo, South Africa, who also appear on two other songs on the record, the opening track A Beautiful World and closer A Great Big Beautiful World (reprise).

The album also includes a cover of John Lennon's Jealous Guy and a track called Chump, which appears to be the same protest song Taylor dropped in February, seemingly directed at President Trump.

Taylor will accompany the album with a headline UK tour, kicking off in Newcastle on September 21, followed by stops in Edinburgh, Birmingham, Manchester, London and Swansea. He'll be backed by his band, featuring keyboardist Spike Edney, supporting drummer Tyler Warren, multi-instrumentalist Tina Keys, bassist Neil Fairclough and guitarist Christian Mendoza. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on June 17.
