Beck Announces First Album In Seven Years 'Ride Lonesome', Shares New Single In The Night

Beck has announced his first new album in seven years.
The multi-Grammy Award-winning artist will release 'Ride Lonesome' through Capital Records on September 18, marking his first album of new material since 2019's 'Hyperspace' and the following year's deluxe expanded edition, 'Hyperspace 2020'.
Produced by Beck, the album was recorded with Smokey Hormel, Joey Waronker, Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Roger Joseph Manning Jr. and Jason Falkner, who have played on previous albums of his, including 'Mutations' (1998), 'Sea Change' (2002) and 'Morning Phase' (2014). Nigel Godrich, who also worked on 'Mutations' and 'Sea Change', handled mixing. Beck said:
"It had been a decade since we went in the studio and recorded 'Morning Phase'. This time it felt like the playing and the chemistry had evolved and deepened — a sound that’s come together over the decades of working together. While we were revisiting a musical and physical place, it also felt like we were finding new sounds and emotional textures along the way."
The new record will include the previously shared title track, which Beck followed with a duet version with Sierra Ferrell last month, along with the new single In The Night, a haunting track that blends finger-picked acoustic guitar with sweeping orchestral arrangements. Beck will support the album with his Ride Lonesome Tour across North America, kicking off on September 16 in Vancouver and wrapping up on October 31 in Nashville. Tickets are on sale now.
Since his last album, Beck has also released 'Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime’, an eight-track collection of rarities, deep cuts and covers, in January.
