Jhene Aiko To Release Fourth Album 'Westside Whimsy' On Friday

Jhené Aiko will return with her fourth studio album later this week. 

Following months of teasers, the Grammy-nominated American R&B artist took to social media to confirm that 'Westside Whimsy' will arrive via Def Jam Recordings this Friday (September 11), sharing its cover art that shows the singer crying diamond tears. In the caption, she wrote:

"You guys so much has happened in the last 6 years. I’m so excited and nervous to share this with you. It’s like every time I tried to lock in, life knocked me on my ass. I’m so grateful that I was finally able to finish."

Fans expect her split from ex-boyfriend Big Sean, as well as her recent romance with Larry June, to influence the album's themes, with its 20 tracks featuring appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, Tyga, OHMA and her new flame, June.

Aiko released her third album, 'Chilombo', in 2020, just before the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns. More recently, she appeared on June's single California Dream in July, which followed her single Break last November.
