Trivium have released a new single, Dead Inside Of Me.
The intense track comes loaded with the Florida metallers' signature groove-heavy sound, with crushing thrashy riffs doing most of the talking, complete with a few solos thown in alongside melodic vocals. Head below to view the unsettling video directed by Pavel Trebukhin.
It marks the Grammy-nominated band's first new music since last year's 'Struck Dead' EP and the first taste of what's to come from the follow-up to 2021's 'In The Court Of The Dragon'. Bassist Paolo Gregoletto said:
"Dead Inside Of Me was a song that came together at the end of a long day of writing new music last summer. It started with a riff I’d had kicking around for five or six years called ‘Slam,’ looping over a simple groove.
"A lot of the most fun song ideas come from blending two contrasting ideas together. Take a death metal riff and play it like a stadium rock song. Let the screaming and singing weave together until they feel like one voice. Being able to explain the idea that simply as the song was coming together helped keep us laser-focused and on track to see the vision through to the end."
Last month, it was announced that Trivium, with the addition of new drummer Alex Rudinger, will team up with fellow metal giants In Flames for a co-headline tour across Europe, the UK and Ireland next year. The run will have a different headliner depending on the region, with Trivium closing shows on the UK and Ireland run, and In Flames as special guests, while In Flames will headline in Scandinavia, with Trivium as special guests. Across the rest of mainland Europe, both bands will co-headline, while Paleface Swiss and VOLA will open thoughout the run.
Before that, Trivium will join Lamb Of God for a co-headline tour of Australia next month, followed by their The Crown In The Grave Tour across North America this winter, featuring support from In Flames, Orbit Culture, Fit For An Autopsy and Frozen Soul. Tickets are on sale now.
