Teddy Swims Announces Second Album 'UGLY' With New Single Perfect Man

Teddy Swims has announced his second album.
The American singer and songwriter from Georgia will release 'UGLY' on January 22 via Warner Records, following 2023's 'I've Tried Everything but Therapy (Part 1) and last year's second half and complete edition. Written over the 15 months since his son was born, it serves as an outlet for self-reflection and personal growth, both as a man and a father.
Alongside the announcement, the Grammy-nominated artist has shared a new single, Perfect Man, a soulful, stripped back song about the pressures we put on ourselves and learning to accept our imperfections. He explained:
"‘Perfect Man’ is a song about self-forgiveness. In my life, I’ve held myself to a standard that is completely unrealistic, I’ve been too hard on myself as a partner, as a father, and in feeling the responsibility that comes with knowing there are people who rely and look up to me. I truly believe our insecurities and our quirks are signs of strength rather than weakness. My hope with this song, and with the work and conversations around it, is that people can find some relief and try to lean into our shortcomings and have an open dialogue about them rather than trying to hide them. The beauty of chasing perfection is knowing we will never reach it."
Created alongside frequent collaborators Julian Bunetta, Afterhrs, Matt Zara, Mikky Ekko, Kendrick Nicholls, and Alex Izquierdo, plus Edgar Barrera, the track arrives alongside a live performance video and will be joined on the album by earlier single Mr. Know It All, which dropped back in April. However, his later track, Break Up in Reverse, wont feature. The full tracklist has yet to be revealed.
Swims will support the album with the UGLY Tour, which kicks off next week with shows across North America, followed by the UK and European leg next spring. Tickets are on sale now.
