Patrick Wolf Confirms 'The Magic Position' 20th Anniversary London Show For February

Patrick Wolf has announced a special London show for early next year.
The London singer and multi-instrumentalist will celebrate the 20th anniversary of his classic album 'The Magic Position' with a one-night-only performance at the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire on February 26.
The show will see Wolf perform the album in full alongside a chamber orchestra and band, exactly 20 years to the day after the album's original release on February 26, 2007. Tickets go on general sale at 9am on Friday (September 25).
"I had been thinking all summer of a way to mark twenty years since the release of an album that completely changed the course of my life," Wolf said. "With no ability to give the album a remaster or vinyl release, holding no rights to the master recording, and too deep in writing and production for my next album, I decided to give 'The Magic Position' one spectacular sonic and visual moment. One night only with chamber orchestra and full band in the venue the album received its grand finale at the end of 2007 - Shepherds Bush Empire. A moment that I hold as much regret for as I do hope for artistic redemption with - my chance for that being, February the 26th, 2027.”
Alongside the announcement, Wolf has released a previously unheard acapella version of Magpie, his duet with Marianne Faithfull, which originally featured on the album.
Meanwhile, the feature-length biographical documentary WOLF, executive produced and narrated by Tilda Swinton, will open this year's Doc'n'Roll Film Festival at London's Barbican Cinema 1 on October 22, followed by a ScreenTalk Q&A with director Christian Cargill and Wolf, who will join via Zoom from the Sonoran Desert, where he is currently writing his eighth album, the follow-up to last year's 'Crying The Neck'.
Since his last album, Wolf also released the 'Better or Worse' EP in August 2025. In May, he returned with the single, The Beast, followed by The Laughing Dove in June.
He'll continue his Tour of the Beast with a second North American leg this autumn, followed by two shows in Germany in December. Tickets are on sale now.
