Darius Rucker is an American singer-songwriter and musician hailing from Charleston, South Carolina. Born in 1966, he is a talented guitarist as well as world renowned vocalist, and made a name for himself fronting Grammy-winning outfit Hootie & The Blowfish. Since going on hiatus in 2008, Darius has cemented himself with a successful solo career.
Though Hootie & The Blowfish were a rock band, Rucker would go on to put out an R&B record for his first solo effort. However, he would later become a country musician, and it’s a move that definitely paid off: Wagon Wheel, the second single from his fourth album ‘True Believers’, saw him become just the third African-American person to win a vocal performance Grammy in country music.
His latest release was 'When Was The Last Time', which arrived in October 2017. He'll support the new record with tour dates in the UK in October 2018, including a stop at the Royal Albert Hall on October 28 as part of Country Music Week.
