Dimmu Borgir Tickets, Tour Dates & Concerts 2024/2025 ♫Last Updated: 12 Aug 2019 9:19am
Dimmu Borgir are a Norwegian symphonic black metal band from Oslo, made up of vocalist Shagrath, Silenoz and on guitars, drummer Daray and Gerlioz on keys.
The name is derived from Dimmuborgir, a volcanic formation in Iceland, the name of which means dark cities or dark castles/fortresses in Icelandic, Faroese and Old Norse. The band has been through numerous lineup changes over the years, yet guitarist Silenoz and vocalist Shagrath are the only original members who still remain, with guitarist Galder being a longstanding member. Formed in 1993, the band put out an EP, 'Inn i evighetens mørke' that year. Its success helped form their debut full-length, 'For all tid' in 1995. Nine albums followed, with their latest 'Eonian' dropping in 2018, a full seven years after 'Abrahadabra'. Dimmu Borgir will co-headline a London show with Amorphis in January 2020.
