DJ Jazzy Jeff, real name Jeffrey Allen Townes, is an American hip hop DJ and producer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who is best known for his early career with Will Smith as DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince.
Alongside Will Smith, he has a string of gold and platinum selling albums and singles, winning Grammy Awards for Best Rap Performance for Parents Just Don’t Understand and Summertime. After DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince split, he formed his own production company A Touch of Jazz, and worked with the likes of Jill Scott, Eminem, and The Roots. He’s also had a solo career releasing albums and EPs such as The Magnificent in 2002, The Return of the Magnificent in 2007, and The Return of Hip Hop the same 2007. In May 2018, he released the album 'M3', and has since played tours as far and wide as Australia. DJ Jazzy Jeff has announced fresh UK headline dates in October and November.
