Don Letts is a DJ, filmmaker and musician from London.
He came to notoriety in the late 1970s as the DJ that single handedly turned a whole generation of punks onto reggae. His reputation has been firmly established in both the film and music world by a substantial body of work from the late 7's through the 80s, 90s and well into the millennium. After DJing at punk club The Roxy in 1977, he started directing music videos, and made over 300 for a diverse mix of artists in his time, ranging from Public Image to Bob Marley. He was also the videographer for The Clash, directing several of their music videos. He then moved into documentary work, and over the years had made films on the likes of Gil Scot-Heron, The Jam, Sun Ra, The Clash, Paul McCartney and George Clinton.
