Editors are an English indie/alt-rock outfit hailing from Birmingham that formed back in 2002. Currently consisting of frontman Tom Smith, guitarist Justin Lockey, bassist Russell Leetch, drummer Ed Lay, and synth-player Elliott Williams.
First emerging after the guys met at Staffordshire University, Editors would quickly start performing across the UK, before putting out their debut album, The Black Room, in 2005, reaching #2 in the UK Albums chart
Today, the band boast four studio albums under their belt - two of which have gone platinum here in the UK, and two of which have topped the chart - and a loyal fan base, who have helped them sell out tours and shows regularly.
Editors' latest record, 'The Weight of Your Love', hit shelves in 2013, and was followed by a few gigs and performances here and there, including a date at London's Royal Albert Hall. Their fifth studio album, 'In Dream', was released in October 2015, followed by a series of UK and Ireland dates.
Their new LP, 'Violence' will arrive on March 9 through Play It Again Sam and will be followed by dates across Europe and North America. In addition, Editors have announced a UK and Ireland tour for October, their first for over three years. I saw them a few years back but this time around they were even better and completely blew me away. Their new album is incredible. They are such an underrated band and to see them live is a something everyone should witness. A set of old and new material, hit after hit, and watching Tom give 110% on stage is utterly compelling. Such a hard working band finally reaping the recognition they deserve.
Absolutely cracking gig as usual. Ive seen them a few times at gigs and festivals and they are always a quality live act. Great mix of both old and new songs too and the crowd were very responsive, great atmosphere, even to the newer material. If you haven't caught Editors live, buy a ticket. You won't be disappointed.

Although not in the same league as Dylan going electric, there have been a number of shifts in Editors’ style over the years. From the Joy Division-derived gloom of their debut, ‘The Back Room’, to 2015’s ‘In Dream’, where their metamorphosis into a bleak electronica band seemed complete, their transformations have occurred without too much getting left behind.
