Field Music are an indie-rock band from Sunderland, United Kingdom, consisting of David and Peter Brewis, with Andrew Moore featuring as pianist on the first two records.

Formed in 2004, they released their self-titled debut in 2005, with the follow-up, ‘Tones of Town’, coming in 2007. The band then went on hiatus so that the members could work on other projects. David Brewis released an album as School Of Language in February 2008 and a second in 2014, and Peter Brewis recorded an album under the name The Week That Was that was released in August 2008.

The band then returned for a fourth album, ‘Plumb’, which was released in February 2012. The following year they composed a soundtrack for the 1929 silent documentary ’Drifters’, which was premiered with a live performance and screening for Berwick Film and Media Arts Festival.

David and Peter Brewis joined with Ian Black to create the band Slug in 2014, and Peter worked with Maximo’s Paul Smith on the album 'Frozen By Sight' the same year.

Field Music reunited again in 2015, and released the album ‘Commontime’ in February of that year, followed by 'Open Here' in 2018. Their latest LP is 2020's 'Making A New World'.
