Foals are an English indie rock band from Oxford, consisting of frontman Yannis Philippakis, Jack Bevan, Jimmy Smith, Walter Gervers, and Edwin Congreave,
Formed in 2005, the band was formed out of the ashes of math rock bands The Edmund Fitzgerald and Face Meets Grill. After the band's members decided to take music seriously and drop out of university to focus on it properly, they signed a deal with Transgressive Records and went on to put out their debut album, 'Antidotes', in 2008, which peaked at #3 in the UK Album Chart.
2010 saw the bands second effort, 'Total Life Forever', hit #8 in the UK Album Chart and they put out their first US release in the form of a mixtape. The bands third LP, 'Holy Fire', hit #2 in the UK, in 2013, and became their first to chart in the USA. It was then that their tours began to gain real traction, and in August 2015, Foals released 'What Went Down', heading on an arena tour in the UK, US and Europe.
Since, they've headlined and performed at a variety of festivals including Reading and Leeds Festival, Citadel, Glastonbury, Bestival, Parklife and more.
Foals have confirmed two new albums for release in 2019: 'Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost'. Parts one is due for release in March, the second arriving in autumn.
