Foo Fighters are an American alternative rock band from Seattle, Washington, featuring frontman Dave Grohl, guitarists Chris Shiflett and Pat Smear, bassist Nate Mendel, keyboard player Rami Jaffee, and drummer Taylor Hawkins. They are best known for tracks like My Hero, Learn to Fly, Best of You, Everlong, All My Life, The Pretender, Monkey Wrench.
Formed in 1994, the band released their self-titled debut album in 1995, which was followed by ‘The Colour and the Shape’, in 1997 and ‘There Is Nothing Left to Lose’, in 1999.
Their fourth album, ‘One by One‘, released in 2002, saw them gain their debut #1 in the UK Albums Chart. It wasn’t until their seventh release, ‘Wasting Light’, which came out in 2011, that the band got their first US #1. 'Sonic Highways' came in 2014, and their latest album, ‘Concrete and Gold’, dropped in September 2017.
The band have headlined their own shows and tours across the world, as well as having played two sold-out shows at the Milton Keynes Bowl in 2011 and one in 2015, headlining the Invictus Games Closing Concert in London, as well as having headlined festivals such as Reading and Leeds Festival and Glastonbury.
The band played at London's O2 Arena in September, as part of the venue’s 10th anniversary celebrations. Additionally, they recently opened a hugely popular pop-up pub in London, named The Foo Fighters Arms, which sold merchandise and even ales brewed by members of the band themselves.
Foo Fighters are currently touring in support of ‘Concrete and Gold’ and are back in the UK next year, having announced huge summer stadium shows in June. They play more North American shows in 2018 too, as well as others across the globe. Catch them live by checking out the tour dates and concert ticket information below on Stereoboard.
