Gomez are an English indie-rock outfit hailing from Southport. Formed in 1997, the band consists of frontmen Ian Ball and Ben Ottewell, bassist Paul ‘Blackie’ Blackburn, singer/guitarist/keyboard-player Tom Gray, and drummer/producer Olly Peacock.
A hit in the UK over the break of the millennium, when they earned two platinum albums and the #2 spot in the UK charts, they’ve also made an impact across the pond and down under, and are continuing to tour and release music to this day. They last toured the UK in 2012, but celebrated 20 years of Bring It On with a re-issue of the seminal album and UK tour dates throughout the spring and summer of 2018. Gomez will celebrate the upcoming reissue of their sophomore album, 1999's 'Liquid Skin' with UK and Ireland tour dates in summer 2019, too. After being slightly disappointed that Badly Drawn Boy didn't have a band with him headliners Gomez took to the stage & proceeded to give a faultless demonstration of how to get a festival crowd rockin' to their boots. From the opening bars of Revolutionary Kind thru to classics like Get Myself Arrested & the fabulous Tuijuana Lady, it made for a memorable evening.
