The Goo Goo Dolls are an American alternative rock band from Buffalo, New York, consisting of frontman and guitarist John Rzeznik and bass player Robby Takac.
Formed in 1986 they released their debut self-titled album the following year, but it wasn’t until their fourth album, 'A Boy Named Goo', which was released in 1995, that they entered the Billboard Hot 200 chart, reaching #27. After signing with Warner Bros Records, they released the album, ‘Dizzy Up the Girl’, which performed even better, charting at #15 and contained the single, Iris, which hit #9 in the Billboard Hot 100.
‘Gutterflower’ continued their success, reaching #4 in the chart, with ‘Let Love In’, peaking at #9, and ‘Something for the Rest of Us’ reaching #7. Their tenth album, ‘Magnetic’, saw a release in 2013 and hit #8 in the chart. The band released their latest album ‘Boxes’ on May 6, 2016.
Recently, the band played UK/Europe shows in the summer of 2018, as well as North American dates later on. In summer 2019, they tour North America again, this time alongside Train. Catch them live by checking out the tour dates and concert ticket information below on Stereoboard.

They may have started out as snotty punks enthralled by the Replacements, but over the last two decades the Goo Goo Dolls have morphed into a slick, radio-friendly modern rock act with a penchant for emotionally stirring anthems. ‘Boxes’, their 11th studio album, unfortunately takes that process of sonic softening too far, embracing a pop sound in a way that suggests they are having a musical mid-life crisis.
