Last Updated: 07 Oct 2024 1:15pm
Green Day are a rock band from East Bay, California, consisting of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool.

Formed in 1986, the band released their debut album ‘39/Smooth’ in 1990, but it was their third LP, 1994's ‘Dookie’, that pushed them into the mainstream, hitting #2 on the Billboard Hot 200. Since then, the band have put out 10 more albums to date, including 2004's ‘American Idiot’, which gave the band their first #1 record, and their latest LP, 2020's ‘Father Of All Motherfuckers'. Their 14th studio album, 'Saviors', was released in January 2024 via Reprise/Warner Records.

As one of the biggest pop-punk bands in the world, the band have headlined festivals and tours all over the world, including across the US, Europe, UK, Australia and more, and even have their own hit Broadway musical: American Idiot.

Green Day will simultaneously support their new album and celebrate the respective anniversaries of 'Dookie' and 'American Idiot' with a tour of Australia in March 2025. They also have dates lined up in Mexico, Dubai, Thailand, Malayasia and Japan. In June 2025, they'll headline Norway's Tons Of Rock Festival. Green Day There’s something about Green Day and years ending in four. Thirty years ago, ‘Dookie’ sent the band stratospheric. In 2004, their near-flawless rock opera masterpiece ‘American Idiot’ set the seal on a theatrical reinvention. So, no pressure in 2024, then. Fortunately, ‘Saviors’ is the band’s best record since George W. Bush was festering in the White House.
